Your wedding in Scotland

Inspiring ideas...

Let our ideas inspire you when you want to make your wedding day memorable!

Themed weddings

If you are looking for a celtic or medieval theme you may want to consider the dramatic setting of a ruined castle or abbey, or for a traditional highland wedding one of Scotland’s many turreted castles can offer plenty of room for banquets. Maybe the Skye Boat song inspires you to choose a remote Scottish Island? It's your special day and anything is possible!

Wedding Invitations

So much more than a means of informing your guests, it is also your first opportunity to personalise your wedding in your own style as you set the scene for the ceremony and celebrations. Hand made, personally delivered - the choice is yours!

Arrive at your wedding in style

Imagine making your dramatic arrival by boat, hot air balloon or even an American Taxicab. Or perhaps you would prefer a horse drawn carriage or vintage Rolls Royce. And why not, for the ultimate statement, have your personal helicopter waiting to whisk you away from your wedding in true filmstar style. All this and more can be easily arranged by The Wedding Planner.

Music

This plays such an important part in a wedding. The presence of a piper in full regalia sets the scene of a very Scottish wedding and later, a ceilidh band with fiddles and accordians playing traditional music for Scottish dancing reels and waltzes into the wee small hours. For something less traditional a harpist or string quartet could provide the background music whilst your guests are mingling.

Photographs

Your wedding album is one of the few tangible things you can keep from your wedding day, so why not have the actual album uniquely designed?

The Groom & Menswear

From kilts made with a tartan designed especially for your ‘clan’ to crushed velvet frockcoats and anything else that goes!

The Dress

Is it to be a Caroline Castigliano or an Amanda Wakely. The wedding dress is one of the first things that every bride thinks of when planning her wedding, make sure you make a statement.

Fireworks!!!

Fireworks are a memorable addition to the day and could be a lovely finale to your wedding reception. Envisage standing at one side of the loch watching the soaring fireworks light up the sky on the other side.

Keeping guests informed

We can help set up your wedding web page to let your guests and friends know your news and advise of all your latest wedding details. And perhaps also set up a Gift List for them to choose from.

Scottish Traditions

Not only want the wedding to take place in Scotland but to follow true Scottish tradition? Don’t worry we will keep you right, here are some for you to consider. The Groom should throw a handful of small change out of the car (or helicopter?) window for the children gathered outside of the church. Also on the morning of the wedding the Bride to be should put a silver coin in the toe of her right shoe and step out right foot first for her last walk as a single lady. The coin is said to bring good luck
